Sunday Wildflower Drive: Willow City Loop

Willow City Loop

A visit to the the Texas Hill Country brings you to the most beautiful part of the Lone Star state, and when you arrive, there is plenty to do within an hour drive.  Last weekend we headed towards Fredericksburg and drove the infamous “Willow City Loop”  looking for wildflowers, and just enjoying a beautiful Texas day in paradise. We ended with a wine tasting at William Chris Winery on Hwy 290 in Hye, Texas. Feeling blessed!

This is one of the most beautiful drives in the Texas Hill Country, with dramatic changes in elevation and abundant wildflowers. See the map below — it makes it easier to find the route!

Hwy 290 Wineries

When you’re out that way looking for wildflowers and enjoying the Hill Country Views, make time to stop at some of the wineries on Hwy 290 between Johnson City and Fredericksburg.  Some of our favorites: William Chris and Inwood Estates.
